What laser cleaning can do
Pulsed laser cleaning removes contaminants by ablation — the laser energy vaporizes the contaminant layer without transferring significant heat to the substrate below. Here's what we handle and how it works.
By contaminant type
Light Surface Rust
Flash rust and thin oxide layers on carbon steel, mild steel, and cast iron. Low power, wide scan, fast removal with zero pitting.
Heavy Rust & Scale
Deep corrosion and laminar scale on structural steel, plates, and castings. Multiple passes with gradually increasing power.
Paint & Powder Coat
Water-based, solvent, epoxy, and powder coatings removed layer by layer. Fume extraction critical — paint generates organic vapors.
Weld Oxide & HAZ
Post-weld heat-affected zone discoloration and oxide on stainless steel. Low power preserves corrosion resistance and passivation.
Oxide & Anodizing
Bare oxide layers and anodized coatings on aluminum. Reflective substrate requires careful parameter calibration.
Oil, Grease & Carbon
Hydrocarbon residue, production oils, and carbon deposits on machinery, molds, and tooling. No solvent needed.
Graffiti Removal
Paint and marker residue on brick, concrete, stone, and masonry. Removes graffiti without etching the surface beneath.
Biological & Pollution
Moss, algae, mold staining, and environmental pollution on stone facades, monuments, and historic structures.
Corrosion & Tarnish
Oxidation, patina, and corrosion on copper, brass, and bronze. Precision cleaning preserves detail and patina where desired.
AC Coils & Fins
Condenser coils, evaporator fins, and heat exchangers for commercial HVAC and rooftop units. Restores airflow and efficiency without water, chemicals, or fin damage — ideal for property managers and facility teams.
Who we serve
Industrial & Manufacturing
Production line equipment, injection molds, hydraulic cylinders, structural steel, storage tanks, heat exchangers, conveyor systems.
Automotive Restoration
Engine blocks, cylinder heads, chassis frames, body panels, wheels, suspension components, brake assemblies.
Renovation & Restoration
Historic brick and stone, wood beams, metal fixtures, architectural details, pre-paint surface prep.
Municipal & Public Works
Graffiti on public structures, bridge maintenance, monument restoration, infrastructure cleaning, signage restoration.
Property Management & Commercial Facilities
AC condenser and coil cleaning, exterior metal, parking structures, signage, graffiti — mobile service that doesn't shut down the building. No water runoff, no chemical staging, no abrasive cleanup.
LEED & Sustainable Building Programs
Zero water, zero chemicals, and zero abrasives make laser cleaning a natural fit for LEED-certified buildings and green maintenance programs — no runoff to capture, no VOCs from solvents, no waste stream from spent media.
How laser cleaning works
Pulsed fiber lasers deliver high-energy, short-duration pulses to the surface. The contaminant absorbs the energy and vaporizes (ablation). The substrate — with different absorption characteristics — stays below its damage threshold. The result: the contaminant is gone, the base material is untouched.
Why it works
Every material has an ablation threshold — the energy density at which it vaporizes. Rust, paint, and oxides have lower thresholds than steel, aluminum, or stone. The laser is tuned to deliver energy above the contaminant's threshold but below the substrate's.
Short pulse durations (nanoseconds) limit heat diffusion into the substrate. The thermal effect is confined to the contaminant layer. No warping, no annealing, no microstructural changes to the base material.
- No abrasives — no media to clean up, no embedded particles
- No chemicals — no solvents, no runoff, no disposal costs
- Non-contact — no mechanical stress on thin or delicate parts
- Selective — removes contaminant, preserves substrate
- Precise — clean a 5mm spot or a 5-meter panel
- Mobile — we bring the equipment to your site
Class 4 laser operations, done right
Industrial laser cleaning uses Class 4 lasers
Class 4 systems (above 500mW continuous wave) pose eye, skin, and fire hazards from direct or diffusely reflected beams. All operations follow ANSI Z136.1 safety standards: designated laser controlled areas, certified laser safety eyewear (OD 5+ at 1064nm), flame-resistant clothing, and fume extraction with HEPA filtration.
On-site safety protocol
Every job starts with a controlled area setup: barriers, warning signs, and access control. Operators wear wavelength-specific laser safety eyewear, FR clothing, and respiratory protection. Fume extraction captures metal oxide particulates and organic vapors at the source.
A fire extinguisher is positioned within 3 meters of the work area. Combustible materials are cleared. We test on a small patch first — always — before proceeding to full-area cleaning.
- ANSI Z136.1 compliant operating procedures
- Certified laser safety eyewear for all personnel
- HEPA fume extraction at the work surface
- Controlled access zones with physical barriers
- Test-patch-first methodology on every job
